Client Services Associate - Fixed Income (Institutional Asset Management)
Job Description: Independently provides administrative support to an assigned group of institutional clients and consultants. Capable of resolving complex administrative problems and ad hoc requests. Day-to-day client contacts are generally mid- or junior-level finance or investments staff. May assist in preparing RFP and questionnaire responses.
Key Responsibilities
- Collects data and produces reports, including but not limited to: client/board of director/investment committee presentations, monthly/quarterly reporting, institutional client finals presentations, questionnaires, website reporting and daily ad hoc requests.
- Coordinates administrative contact with clients regarding cash movements, accounting issues, general portfolio questions, and audit cycles; maintains all records pertaining to clients/portfolios, including but not limited to website maintenance, questionnaire preparation, creating and updating data tables/charts, producing presentations, updating databases, etc.
- Produces reports to accurately and effectively communicate investment information for portfolio managers and clients, able to interpret themes, trends, and implications from various reports or data sets.
- Identifies data anomalies within portfolios and coordinates correction of data within Advent/APX, BondEdge, and/or various other departmental resources or reports.
- Produces and formats strategy and portfolio level commentary for client and consultant reporting.
- Works constructively with internal departments, colleagues and clients.
- Collaborates with fixed income quantitative analyst to produce various reports for clients and/or their consultants.
- Utilizes problem-solving skills and strong aptitude for data management.
- Handles high priority, time sensitive and complex duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in institutional client services or portfolio management support required.
- Bachelor’s degree required, MBA with a focus in marketing, business, or finance are a plus.
- A working knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of the investment management industry including fundamentals of financial terminology, formulas and concepts.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Aptitude to work with or learn: Advent/APX, BondEdge, Assette, Salesforce, Bloomberg, eVestment and Qvidian.
- Highest level of integrity, regard for confidentiality, strong work ethic, ability to work
independently but also effectively and collaboratively in a team. - Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and multi-task.
